Happy Mothers Day

A mother is a friend, a buddy, a pal.

A mother is a person not afraid to get dirty or throw a ball.

A mother is an angel, a gift from above.

A mother is a person who is caring and full and love.

A mother is someone who shines from within.

A mother can be both strong and delicate.

To me my mother is all of the above.

Someone who I could never give enough love.

To all of the mothers out there I just want to say.

I hope you have a very loving Mothers Day.

This is a picture of my mom and I on our very first christmas together. Unfortunatley mom's head was cut off when the picture was taken. But that doesn't make my memory of it any less special. Thank you for all you've taught me over the years mom! I love you with all of my heart!

More Rain....

So its still raining here at my dog house.... Now, I don't mind if it rains too much, because I know it will eventually end. But THUNDER?!?!?!? I am terrified of thunder. Mom, Jessie, and Dad aren't quite sure why I started to become scared of thunder (I never was as a puppy) and I'm not about to pour my secret. Jessie and Dad think I was out in the yard and a big thunder or maybe lightning bolt scared me.... maybe? I'm not telling. Dad was making fun of me because I was so scared. He even called me a "pansie"!

Go outside? In this weather? Are you kidding me?

Jessie kept trying to get a lightning bolt or a big crack of thunder caught on tape, but mother nature was just not cooperating with her and the flashy thing. I don't blame mother nature, some days I can't stand the flashy thing. All she got was the pounding rain.... close the door I'm getting wet!

The weirdest thing about this crazy weather, was as soon as it came, it was gone. Jessie left for class in the worst part of the rain, and when she got to her college ( about a 7 minute drive) the sun was poking through the clouds! I hope mother nature is feeling okay because this has been one crazy week.

Rain Rain Go Away

Rain Rain Go Away

Come Again Another Day
For When The Droplets Fall From The Sky

The Roads And Sidewalks Are Not Dry

Puddles Collect On Everything

And Little Birdies Begin To Sing

But I Can Not Be Taken Out On Walks

And Help Pedro Look For Pretty Rocks

All I Can Do Is Sit And Lay

And Dream About Walking On Another Day

I has been raining non-stop for what seems like an eternity at our dog house. Saturday when Jessie and Dad took me on a walk we were lucky to find a small break in the rain. Sunday was drizzling while I was getting groomed at Petco. And now Jessie, Pedro, and I can't go on a walk today! I know the plants need rain to grow...... but it would be nice to get one warm sunny day a week to get my walk in. Plants need sun just as much as I do! All there is to do is just lay around the house. Luckly enough we just got some new toys along with many more rocks (stay tuned to Pedro's Blog for updates!).... but there isn't much room in the house to play. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be a Walking Wednesday. I'm keeping my paws crossed!

Busy Bee

Happy Sunday everyone! I want to apologize for not posting much recently or visiting my bloggie buddies. Jessie had been really busy with school lately...... those silly humans. Its always something about work or school.... oh well.

Pedro and I did get to go to Petco today though! Mom said our nails were getting pretty long so Dad and Jessie took us to get a pedicure. Pedro had to be muzzled so he wouldn't bite the lady who cut our nails. Unfortunately..... Jessie forgot her camera and missed the Kodak moment. We also got our ears cleaned which felt really funny. I wasn't quite sure what to make of having cotton balls rubbed in my ears (which were pretty dirty) but it feels pretty nice now.

Yesterday Dad and Jessie took Pedro and I for a little walk on the beach. It had rained that morning so the beach was nice and hard to walk on. I guess the rain had upset some of the fishes because there were a lot of Skates washed up on the shore. I decided to go on a search and rescue mission but all of the fishes I found were dried up. This is what a skate looks like... its not a picture we took... because there was no camera!! But it gets the point across.

Last but not least I'd like to congratulate all of the winners from GSD's April Shower & Spring Flowers photo contest.
Fisrt: Waldo
Second: Hoppy
Third: Diego

Also my friend Anneliese is now a proud mother!!! The Dakel Princess has tons of puppy pictures up at her bloggie and they are just so sweet! Congratulations to everyone on their achievements! Have a great week!

Awards!

Today is a very special day for me.... My friends Darla Jean, Feather, & Pappy from Kids In Dog Suits have given me my first award!!!! Well, not just one but two!!!! Can you beleive it???
This first one is the Proximity Award.

This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award.

I choose to pass this on to my little brother Pedro, our cousion Rambo, and my good friends.... Joey & Zeke, Khyra, Purett & Daphne, JB, Addie & Lucie, and last but not least Hector & Lola.

Here is the second award.

As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging. To seek the reason why we all love blogging. Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it. Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award. Answer the Award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging. Tag and distribute the Award to as many people as you like.

The reason I love blogging.... Well it really all started when my Mom found Pedro's cousion Rambo on dogs with blogs. We started to follow the little chihuahua from Chino Hills and fell in love with his family. A few months later Pedro made is own blog and gained so many friends and was able to share his adventures with so many great doggies Jessie and I decided she would help me with my own blog. So far I have made a TON of really great friends in the blogging world and really love sharing my adventures with other doggies, and learning about the fun they have! Although we're still kind of new in the blogging world we love the new friends we make and can't wait to make even more!
Everyone who was tagged with the Proximity award consider yourself tagged with this award as well!
Thank you Darla Jean, Feather, & Pappy for these beautiful awards!!!

Plentiful Posting for a Super Saturday

Today was beautiful, I think spring is finally in full bloom. Once Jessie was done being lazy and got out of bed we went outside to play in the yard. She was taking pictures of EVERYTHING in sight!

She took pictures of Pedro and I playing with our toys.

She took pictures of the beautiful flowers in our yard... or what my friend Joey might consider a tasty treat.

Pedro was doing some morning yoga while Tommy was taking a morning bath.

Libby was sitting in the garden while I was walking across the edge of the pool cover.

Jessie took close ups of everyones faces.

You can see where Pedro has a different colored stripe going down his nose.

Once the sun came up a little more Tommy decided to play "hide and go stalk" in the flower bed.

I decided to play with him and try to get him to chase me!

After a little more playing in the backyard Jessie decided to take us for a nice walk down to the bay.

Once we got home Jessie left to go to the store. Pedro and I always get upset when she leaves, or when anyone leaves but once she got home I was sure glad she went! We got new treats!
After a nice long day and some yummy snacks.... I do declare that it is nap time!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
Hello again everyone! Jessie is back home so I get to post on my blog again. Turns out she didn't go to find the Easter Bunny. Just to visit her human family in Virginia. She didn't even see any bunnies while she was there. Maybe our cat Tommy has eaten them all already? (He loves to hunt and eat them, but he always leaves a small piece for us to find,)

While she was there though she found some silly Easter grass. It was imported from Germany and flavoured to taste like green apples. I didn't get to taste any because Jessie didn't think it would be safe for dogs. (And apparently it turned to a foamy green mess when you ate it.) I don't really mind though, I'm not a fan of apples.

What I did get for Easter was a nice bath! I love baths and always get right in the tub without any hassle. Unfortunately Jessie doesn't have any of the pictures with her.... So maybe later this week we will make a post about bath time. Have a Happy Easter Everyone! I hope the Easter Bunny treats you all well.

Humans Are Silly

Jessie is going away on "Spring Break" this week so I won't be able to post until she gets back. I'm not quite sure what Spring Break means or where she is going but I know she needs a plane to get there and I won't see her until Easter. I don't understand why she would need a break from spring? Who could get tired of nice warm weather?
Humans do some weird things sometimes. Today Jessie was feeding me yummy treats for doing doggy things. She asked me to sit, to stay, to lay down, to speak, and to high-five. I got a treat for each doggy thing I did. I don't get it. Humans don't get treats for being human, so why do I get treats for being a dog? I swear humans are some funny creatures!

Jessie's favorite doggy thing I do is called saying "wa". It's like speaking only quieter. Sometimes I get really excited because I know a treat is coming and make "huffing" or "squeaking" noises.

Well I hope everyone has a Happy Easter or even a Happy Spring Break. Hmmm maybe Jessie is going to find the Easter Bunny on Spring Break? I guess I will find out when she gets back! (We didn't make these eggs, we found them on a google search, but they sure are beautiful and took some talent!!!)

P.S. - Did you know that a Labrador Retriever is one of the only dogs that can hold an uncooked egg in its mouth without breaking it? (Source: Animal Planet). Pretty cool huh?

Ferocious Beasts!

Today I thought our house was being watched by a ferocious beast. Pedro and I were laying nice and warm in bed......

When all of a sudden we heard a mysterious noise..... It's wasn't purring or growling.... It was something else, something scary. We got up to go investigate the scene and find the beast making these strange noises.
(I didn't want to get up out of my nice warm bed at first, so I just smiled for the camera).

When I finally got up Pedro and I checked the kitchen, and the hallway. I even stuck my head out the doggy door but we didn't see anything. Then all of a sudden there it was! Run Pedro I think its a LION!!!! Look at those teeth and that furry mane!

Wait a second... its not a lion.... Its Libby!

She was taking a nap on the couch and was snoring so loud I thought it was a monster! After a quick inspection of the rest of the house, a few stretches, and some yawns Pedro and I figured it was time to go back to our nap.

I'm glad there are no ferocious beasts hiding in our house, even though Libby can sure sound like one! Pssst.. Happy April Fools! (Hmmm, now that I think about it, maybe Libby was playing a trick on Pedro and I???).
If so... She sure is one clever kitty.
