The Power of Words

As I've been searching my memories I have found it simply amazing how one little word or phrase can have so much power and create such a reaction in another living thing. Ziggy had a few favorite words which he knew meant that something special was going to happen when he heard them. Each time we said one he would jump up, start panting, and wag his curly tail uncontrolably. Here's just a few of those words, which I'm very certain that many of you share with your own beloved's.

Walk
Ride
Go
Treat
Beach
Play
Get your duck
Bath
Who's here
What's that

And just like with Ziggy's nicknames.... the list goes on. These words were not tricks (maybe "bath" and "get your duck" were) but they were still so special to Ziggy and I. Even some sounds were just enough to spark the enthuastic respond in Ziggy. The crinkle of a potato chip bag, the jingle of his collar, a creek in the floor coming from your room in the morning...

I wish I had one more chance to see the excitement in your eyes when we were going for a walk Boog.

Oh yes - the power of words...

I know we hope the power of words are helping in some way...

Somehow we can feel the love that the family had for Ziggy. These nicknames and words are common attributes that most of us families and our furry members share with you but itso special when they are spotlighted. The jingle of the choker chains brings everyone running as does the opening of the refrigerator door. You remind us of how special these little things can be. An old song was titled "Little Things Mean A Lot" and how true that is. Our bodies may die but our love for those that go on surely does not die.

We heard about Ziggy from Thunder and Phantom. We are sorry for your loss. We know that Ziggy Marley will always be there in your heart.

that is so very sad. but you must remeber that Ziggy is never far away--you just need to think about him and there he is right back in your heart where he always was...and where he will be forever. it is true, the very fact that he was loved keeps him alive as part of you

my favorite word is "cookie", but I like all the words Ziggy liked too! Except beach....I have never heard that word and bath...I HATE that word.
I know you miss the Zigster very much and there is nothing I can say that can make that go away. I miss him too. Whenever I think of him I want to cry, but I know someday I will think of him and smile, because he was one of the luckiest dogs I know. He had YOU! I miss you Ziggy.
love your cousin Rambo

One of our favorite words is treat. We know that Ziggy is looking from the Bridge and feeling all the love that you are sending him.

Yes, I am sure Ziggy is looking from the Bridge and is happy because he knows how much you love him!
I understand a lot of words too but I only act with the ones I want!

What is so important for you to know and to realize is that Ziggy isn't entirely gone - he is there - right in your heart. I'm sure you can feel him there. He's loving you...

Jess,

Hope you're doing ok. Come visit me this weekend - I miss you :P Mom has been helping me visit people who have stopped by my blog this week. While visiting one group of pups she spotted one of their friend names - Marley and Ziggy. How funny is that? Here is their blog address:

We like words like "are you hungry? do you want a bite?". Usually anything that involves food we love! Ziggy must have been very smart to know all those words! Especially "get your duck". That's so funny! -Hec and Lola
